Outfall Handling Instructions
RING CLUTCHES - IMPORTANT NOTE:
Important information for the safe handling of JKH pre-cast units fitted with the Frimeda Lifting SystemThe Frimeda lift points provide a safe and simple method of hoisting heavy units into position on site. They should not be used for carrying structures any distance over rough uneven surfaces. It is recommended that a spreader bar is used on the hoist attachment to maintain a vertical lift and avoid any side loading on the Frimeda anchor points. Spreader bars can be obtained from J.K.H. on request.
Engaging, Releasing and Maintaining Ring Clutch.
To engage ring clutch to the anchor, first pull the bolt handle upwards so that the mouth of the ring clutch is open.
Then lower the ring clutch into the recess, sliding the mouth of the ring clutch over the head of the anchor. By
pushing the bolt handle downward, towards the concrete, the curved end of the bolt will pass through the eye of the
anchor, completing the union. The unit is now ready for handling.Note: Before applying load, check that the ring clutch, hooks, cables and so forth are free to move and not wedged or kinked.
To disengage the ring clutch from the anchor, simply pull the bolt handle upward. The ring clutch can now be with- drawn from the anchor.
Ring clutches should be inspected every six months. Bolts showing normal wear may be replaced by removing the blocking pin located at the top of the clutch.
Please note: The ring clutches are delivered with the concrete, and are invoiced at cost. Credit is issued when they are returned less a monthly hire charge. A stamped addressed envelope is provided at time of delivery to enable the clutches to be returned direct from site with the least inconvenience.
